Not sure if this is a good idea or not,the sale of a garden in st aubyns to developers to build a 2 bedroom eco house that will front out from vallance road.Just wondering what else could follow in the wake of this if it gets permission??

How ridiculous ... yet when you object you get the mantra ... but we need more housing.

Newsflash peeps ... warehousing people on small plots is not without attendant social issues.

Perhaps more of that Vallance Gardens will be rebuilt? They could get some flats in there.

I have some room on my balcony that is ripe for development.

At the current price of land its so attractive if you happen to be the owner of a house with a large garden in Brighton.
Allotments will be next, the council are desperate for revenue....

More housing for whom?
Not the people who desperately need it.
Most are investments. One new house nearby sold for the first time a year ago. Now it is up for sale again at £100,000 more than they paid a year ago! No wonder house prices are going up and up.

I`ve a few Greek cousins who live in houses built in their parents`gardens. It`s like the `granny-flat` idea in reverse. Trouble is, the folks here who might be really in need of a house aren`t the ones with parents who have a garden to accommodate them.
