Parents that take their children out of school
without permission to go on holiday
face fixed penalty fines.

Well, it may well be worth it of you think about how much the price of a holiday can escalate during school breaks.

Some parents are much better teachers than other parents. Their children are always learning, even when not at school. These are the children who succeed, the children whose parents take an interest. So many do not.

The nature of the holiday should also be taken into account, but I believe it has "always" been illegal to take your kids out of school without permission.

It's no big deal to ask first, surely? I've never been refused permission by my children's schools.
