American protectionism yet again (also see: Banning internet gambling).
Many airlines in the US have gone bankrupt owing 100's of millions, they then carry on, propped up with govt cash and carry on as if nothing happened. As well as that they protect their internal routes from competition.
In other words, the US has a fucking cheek to do this.
