The workers in the states will get
$10 a hour.

Americans having a go of the Tesco standards
when they Allow
Walmart USA to destroy communities
is Typical America.

$10 an hour? With the current exchange rate that's less than what they pay their workers in the UK. Someone's laughing all the way to the bank and it's not Tracy on checkout 4.

Nothing to do with the Exchange rates.
TescoAmerica are trying to be above Walmart USA.

They have less stores being built in America
so they will be new and get many customers.

America is the Open Market
so Walmart pay big fines for their errors.
Nothing changes.

I never suggested they were opening shops in america because the exchange rate was good, merely pointing out that, relativcely, they pay their staff less in America.

???? WTF??? So you are saying they have less stores in Americas to give an appearance of being new? Would it be safe to assume they are also trying to pull the wool over the french public's eyes as well? Or is it becuase they are, in FACT, new to trading in those countries?

Of Course they are new to America
they use American workers
treat them much the same as the world leader Walmart does.

Yes Duke they are 100% New.
New Name "Fresh and Easy"
many poor shoppers will not care that
it is Tesco who own it.

They have the Value - Like Walmart
But they claim to have Quality & Fresh Meals
Unlike Walmart.

They have tested a group of American
mid range shoppers.

Union Groups were outside one of the 6 stores
in California.
They claim Tesco are going to follow Walmart USA
no union needed.

This move of Tescos into the USA may have all kinds of repercussions.

In the world of art, for example:

And what about that American institution: The Chopper!! I can just see it now, roaring down the Pacific Coast Highway, wind in the hair, easy rider checking out the babes:

Dumb Tescos! There are over a quarter of a million British expats living between Santa Monica and downtown LA as well as many in the San Fernando Valley and yet if you look at the map of where the new "Fresh & Easy" Tesco stores are going to be, none of them are near this area.

http://www.freshandeasy.com/whereweareMaps.aspx?map=LosAngeles

When I visit Mrs. BiH's folks next summer I'll have to drive all the way to Simi Valley to get to the nearest one - is it worth it just for stinking American Tesco?

Do what LTNS? I would have thought that it is plain good common sense that you check out any potential business rivals!

6 stores
they are no Potential Rival to the Worlds No.1 store Walmart,
at present.

It shows Walmart for what they are.

ITV Tonight
just did a Docu on TescoAmerica.

Free And Easy is the USA name
and they do not need Unions
infact the Boss said the staff do not want Unions.

They also showed how TescoAmerica is going into run down areas
that even Walmart will not go.

Meanwhile Walmart has set up lots of small stores
the same as Free and Easy.

And they warned TescoUK that
the German Aldi and Lidl UK stores
came up better in UK customers reviews.

Lidl near the Marina is just being Enlarged,
due to open in a week.
And Aldi soon opens on London Road.
