Maybe they meant a general "School is closed today" and contracted it?

That charitable interpretation is misplaced. I see that the apostrophe has now been removed and subsequent article on this school closure has no apostrophes.

This piece shows that if news is delivered by papers with pace and energy, then readers follow.

The Argus has got a picture of David Cameron today. He is looking at a copy of it with a startled expression. He seems to be thinking, "I've found something to read on this page!"

No apostrophe in customers here.

Contempt for subbing copy is a contempt for readers, who then decide not to buy the paper - and papers then hold debates about how to win back readers... Don't they see it is under their noses? Solid, well-researched stories by reporters out and about with their ears to the ground, and well-presented copy.

There's the internet for readers who want recycled press releases.

Here is a fascinating piece about the various ways in which newspapers might adapt to changing times. How strong is the Argus "brand"?

There is a possibility that the Boston Globe will be closed down.

World has changed since 1993, when it was bought for what now looks an absurd sum.

Whilst agreeing it would be little loss, if you scroll down it seems to appear. Admittedly I haven't tried to post anything there since "it" happened .....

Blog reports are perhaps becoming a new force in local news reporting.

Here is another new device for newspapers to be read on. But some say that it is too late to save them.

It looks more likely that the Boston Globe will close down.

Will the Guardan survive?

The creator of The Wire makes the case for charging for online newspapers. Makes sense with the Observer in trouble?

Has the Argus found a pub in Hollingbury?

Its geography is very confused here. The headline talks of North Laine and the article itself the Lanes.

Some newspapers will begin to charge online. Will others follow? So will blogs no longer be able to provide links?

The Argus here has "principals" when it means "principles".

Newspapers will not survive if they have people on board without command of their own language let alone lack other languages. Perhaps they were all too busy "chilling" instead of studying.

The Argus here refers to a "Mo Town" record by Diana Ross.

Will the Argus's editor be arrested for assisting at the death of the language?
