Tombstone
this is America.

It has been like that since before you were born, out there,
I have been in America many times.
It will never change
except when that Nuke goes off in the Van.

O Bugger, here we go again...
Anyway, whether folks believe them or regard them as myth, there were some good stories - so why not make action figures of them, if there`s a market - no more bizarre than some of the action figures around!
There are already two very traditional and well-loved `playsets` that come to mind -
Noah`s Ark and the pairs of animals, and the Nativity set.
Both of these I`ve seen in wood, plastic, cloth and knitted materials. And young kids LOVE `em!
(Regardless of whether they are told the stories behind them, whether they believe anything, or not!)

As a fan of Sarah Kennedy -- from this week!

A life-long atheist went on holiday by himself. Walking through a thick forest, he was suddenly aware a giant bear was following him -- so he quickened his pace and eventually began running .... but the bear was getting closer and closer. The inevitable happened and the atheist tripped over a tree root and fell flat on his back. Ho looked up and the bear was standing above him, his paw raised to deliver the fatal death blow.

"Oh God", shouted the atheist, instinctively. There was a blinding flash and a voice boomed from the heavens. "What a hypocrite you turned out to be", said the voice, "all your life you have been telling people I don't exist, and now in this time of danger you call on me to save you".

The atheist replied: "No, I wouldn't ask that of you, God", said he, "but perhaps, God, you could make the bear a Christian?!" There was another blinding flash from the heavens. The bear's paw was lowered; he placed both his paws together, and having been given the gift of language by the Almighty, said: "Oh Lord. Bless this food and make me grateful for that which I am about to receive".

Anubis, the bear story is excellent!
LT, I bought a Richard Dawkins book (The Blind Watchmaker) in a Hospice Shop in Devon. Not particularly `Cool`, but it`s £1 to a worthy cause. I shall let you know what I think of it when I get around to reading it.
My current Nativity set was knitted for us by an old lady who has eked out her little pension making hundreds of them - she likes doing them because it uses up all her leftover scraps of wool.

The answer is quite simple really ... if they cannot demonstrate a degree of knowledge in the subject they cannot qualify as doctors.

They claim they are. Personally I doubt it. More a case of too much inbreeding if you ask me.

No, I don`t think this is parody. I think they mean it. (Probably the type to hold such views due to too much inbreeding, I agree) BUT... it`s no more bizarre than some folks might see some Gay pressure groups. Maybe it`s just a natural (?) reaction to that stuff? PLease don`t get me wrong here, I`m just saying the more gays present their case, the more SOME folks are likely to react against it. I also think that the folks who react the loudest are those who fear their own sexuality the most. (ie, `gay-bashers are scared they are latent gays..?)

Fewer confessions and new sins

Though there is one sin I would gladly confess to - given half a chance. I wonder if you can guess what it is?

On a more serious note, amazingly, today's Metro coverage highlights the fundamental reactionary nature of the latest homilies from Rome more competently than the BBC, Miriam!
