Because when all's said and done the Greens are no different from any other politician really. Ideals are nice for sound-bites but when it comes to the crunch ... any which way but lo(o)se.

Sadly no link to this but it is a cracker. It is about time that some light was directed into the dark and hidden aspects of this scheme which makes the Private Eye name of Skidrow-on-Sea most apt.

What will the Chief Executive have to say about steering a Council into the clutches of a firm which is now revealed to be built on - er - sand?

Actually that is a very intersting question ... What indeed does Alan McCarthy have to say about the whole Karis Fiasco? After all this all occured during his watch as it were. Surely he holds ultimate responsibility?

Should it come to pass that the King Alfred is demolished, it could remain an even bigger parking lot, nothing built on it.

In the unlikely event that this scheme goes ahead, it would have to be back at Planning first. And what would happen there? All parties know that it will not be built.

Sue John said a while ago that those opposed to the KA did not have a legal team, and legal knowledge is vital for something on this scale.

Fron of today's Evening Standard has a big story about a firm which fabricate support for "developments" on behalf of firms. Forges letters in the names of residents. It is on Channel Four's Dispatches tonight.

What a surprise from todays Argus report that persons unknown paid actors £100 each to turn up at council meetings as supporters of the Karis development.
There must be an investigation as to the truth of this allegation and most importantly who payed them.

Just stinks of astro turfing and the possible misuse of Council finances, lets hope the Council are not involved....

Thanks for the Astroturf information. Looks like the project could be called Astroturf Towers. Would give the impression it was green anyway.

This is very true.

And where would any builders stay in Hove? Their lodgings would put up the costs as well.

A much better Frank Gehry design for the InterActivCorp in Manhattan. A yacht-inspired design could have suited the King Alfred instead of the proposed mish-mash.

One cannot help but wonder what LTNS thinks valuable in reproducing the image of a newspapers frontpage? Is it the headline or the puppies accompanying the headline?

The Headline of 4 Billion is bad news
as more Areas will have community projects stopped or Downsized
to get those funds.

The Burning of Extra money

The 4billion are actually the expected rise in costs all around associated with the drain on the industry that the building of th Olympic Stadium will represent. Much of it will be due to an increase in wages associated with the anticipated increase in demand LTNS. So though it is linked to the stadium it is only an indirect link in that it is a projected consequence within the industry.

Of course it is an issue that our government should have been aware of when it did the forward planning, but then again our government has never really been all that good at forward planning has it so this should come as no surprise really.
