They came for the smokers and you didn't speak out as you weren't a smoker. They came for the drivers and you didn't speak out as you weren't a driver.
and now ....
They are coming after YOU!!!!!

And here we have the government moaning because people are living too long and the cost to the state in pensions and care. Let them drink, smoke and be merry it raises taxes and they die younger, what more could they ask for A short happy life or a long boring one, your choice...
My wish is to slide out of this life into the other with a chocolate in one hand and a martini in the other shouting what a ride.......

I love the comments at the end of this piece. One way to make the Brits revolt is to get in the way of our drink.
I haven`t given up drink - it`s given up on me! My Temperance over the last couple of years is not intentional, it`s just that my tolerance and appetite for alcohol have definitely waned. I still partake of bitter shandy and port/diet lemonade, but in lesser quantities and less frequently these days. A few decades of home-made fruit wines, and Cretan wine from a barrel (holidays with my folks) didn`t do much harm, and I`ve always refused to get into drinking spirits - saying I`m daft enough on ale /wine.
