Another welcome innovation at Greggs is that, free of charge, it issues a date-stamped "certificate of authenticity" with its tuna rolls so that customers can have a souvenir of this memorable dining experience. So a Greggs tuna roll is not simply eaten and forgotten, it becomes a very part of life, and Greggs enthusiasts can collect and trade these certificates with one another.

The shop is conveniently placed on london road. You can access it on foot, or a mobility scooter. It has ample seating, is fully lit, and cool in the summer, yet warm in the winter.

Very interesting piece here by Simon Jenkins about Whole Foods, foodies etc. Meanwhile Tesco caters for the cheap-biscuit brigade.

A quick glance at the article suggests that it explains what is going on near the Jubilee Library.

Speaking of that quarter of Brighton, heard a great account of Italians visiting Carluccios and being very rude about how un-Italian it is.

Yes
WalmartAsda have kept prices Lower than Tesco
for many years
and been awarded for it.

Tesco will have to sell a LCD 15" TV for £49.99
with a HDMI connection.

Because Walmart sold out
of the 1000W Bagless hoover for just £20.

Tesco UK biggest can not match Walmart the Worlds biggest.

Sign Of The Times.

What's an HDMI connection and is it worth £49.99?

HDMI connection means High Definition
many DVD players have that better than normal scart connection, in addition, now.
And Sony-PS3 player plays Blu-Ray movies on DVD
via that connection.
(Blue-Ray is the better of the two new formats the other Format is
just called HD)

No one has had a 15" LCD that low in price yet.

It is a example of how to bring in more punters to a store,
a 15" LCD does not take up much room.

Do we really need either HD or Blu-Ray? A bog-standard DVD player and a good screen is enough.

You do not have to have it
but if you choose you get the best picture ever.

Walmart had a £29 DVD player with HDMI connection
but it sold out in a day.
That means a bog standard DVD gets played better quality up scale picture
due to the Connection.

Lidl sold the HDMI leads for just £5.

You need that connection on a LCD TV
and dvd player like the £29 one from Walmart.
Or a PS3 Sony.

So this will also boost regular DVDs? But it is important to have a multi-region player. Some of the supermarket ones are not.

Some are not, true.
But all the Walmart players play DVD+R & DVD-R.

Once you have a LCD TV with that connection
many types of units can then go into it.
And you still have Scart as well.

Plasmas have Gas in them.
They have worse pictures.

Plasmas are now below LCD TV's, in Quality.

Sony Bravia 32" LCD with Two HDMI & Two Scart
is around £670 in Hove Tesco , for example.

Plasmas are on the way out.

Thanks for all this technical advice.
You will not find this in the Argus.

What about Richer Sounds on London Road ?

Richer Sounds do a multi-region machine for £30. I do not know if it has the new socket. I think that plasma is better if you want a big screen. 32" is not a big screen and probably all right without too much "shadowing" but LCD is not so good for movement as plasma.

Don't Tesco and Walmart rival each other for cheap kettles? If LTNS bought one of these, he would get tea for much less than 75p.

Richer Sounds also sell the LG BlueRay - HD player
the first player that plays both formats for 900 pounds.

Plasma's are not better,
32 " Sony LCD is far better
than a gas filled Plasma.

Multi-Region which means it will play other nations
formats have been as low as £20 in Argos.

Richer Sounds are no longer the good store they used to be
since Argos group buy in bulk
what they wanted to purchase.

In Cuffley, Hertfordshire, the residents have won a referendum, they are against yet another Tesco being opened - and this is near the house of the firm's Chairman! Well done, Cuffley.

Fopp has closed down.

Perhaps not entirely the fault of such places as Tesco but because it bought the Music Zone chain.

Nowhere to buy CDs in Worthing now.

A report here and elsewhere that the "local" milk sold by Tesco in Hereford comes from a place 150 miles away.

As a certain poster might say

This is not local milk.

Unfortunately Hove Tesco was not one the fourteen closed down yesterday for the firm selling live turtles which are killed on the spot by a bash on the head.

This could have combined with a a statement about atrocious architecture.

A turtle is certainly better designed than Hove Tesco. These should be spared and the building knocked down.
