Here is something about the high cost paid for "cheap" food , the fate of Bomfords and their cut-price workers on English farms - once a main Tesco supplier.

Mrs Poppadum reports that she saw Andrew Simms' book Tescopoly at number 11 in the bestsellers at Smith's in Brighton station.

So there are a lot of copies around of a book about the Tesco monopoly!

Here is Tesco being banned in Slough. The building in the picture is the same as the Hove one. They just put up what they want.

And defeat for Tesco in Sunderland!

They should have had housing in Hove site. Much better idea.

It does not
but it stops any Low Paid workers
going through the Glass.
Which would stop the 24/7 Production line.

Here is a report about councillors standing up to Tesco and telling it to demolish an ugly extension for which it did not have permission. The building looks just like the Hove one.

There is no appreciation of architecture at this Council.

For pity's sake ... we get the supermarkets we deserve! We are the consumers and ultimately, we are the ones that validate chains like Tesco and the like by using them.

This reads more like a general Tesco-bashing thread ...so
I`d just like to say I went to our nearest Tesco a few days ago, armed with 3 shopping lists - one was huge, for my daughter who`s early-pregnancy nausea has even put her off shopping (!) and I ended up with a need for a second trolley...Helpful Staff, our Tesco folks win hands down!!
I wasn`t just provided with a second trolley, I was helped with the first one, helped through the till and helped to my car. Bless`em. They were Brilliant.

Row faster, slaves! Caesar wants to waterski!

She's displaying complete ignorance of the augments against Tesco (and super markets in general).

She has missed:

1. Foreign imports - is an environmental issue, not chest beating nationalism.
2. "The idea that Tesco has always been a corner-shop-crushing colossus is a lie". Who has stated that opinion? It's obvious that all big companies have humble origins at some point in time. Does she think that there are people of the belief that they pop into existence as large companies?
3. The supermarket exploitation of "British farmers" is about price fixing and monopolistic practices. Lower the prices, kill the competition, raise the prices.
4. "One of the lowest blows used by the enemies of supermarkets is that old people" What? Who the hell said that?

She sounds like an escapee from planet Me.
