It`s a tax on Optimism. I pay my dues though, when I`m trying to be optimistic. I don`t even want to be `rich`, just want the daft dream of telling my nurse manager what I think...
I don`t even want `freedom`, as I`d only give up slavery in the NHS for the slavery of running a rescue kennels.

Aha, lottery dreams ... mine is to open a bookstore, a large rambling second hand and new bookstore. We will have a café attached to it with comfy armchairs and a children's nursery and playroom. We will have a garden where people can sit and read and a doggie park. We will have story time for children at different times of the week. I also have this idea of working with local schools so that we can adjust our story times to what the children are addressing at school. During the holidays there will be themed weeks and children will be encouraged to 'treasure hunt' the secret book using clues left all over their part of the store whether it be from the way the staff are dressed or clues left around. For adults there will be open evenings where authors and poets can come and hold a talk. Maybe even ask publishers to come and talk about how books are selected.

It probably will not make a penny but if I can pass my love of books to but a handful of children I'll consider every pound lost a pound well spent twice over.

Okay, it is a silly dream but I like it!

That sounds OK.

St.James Street Brighton
has lost many shops these past months
so that could be ideal the location.

Don't waste you time buying a ticket.

I purchased one today and the shop keeper assured me it was the winning one.

Don't worry, I'll buy you all a drink saturday night and I'll order a sit-down banquet from Greggs

I returned my defective ticket to merchant when I failed to win the 102 million US$...I mean it WAS a defective ticket after all.

I think I mentioned this before in the old forum, but it is a standard exersize in life fullfillment seminars to ask what you would do if you won the big prize. Take out all the "I would buys" (Big house, Big car, Big boat, Big anything else...) and you have a pretty good idea of what a person wants out of life. In other words if Miriam would open second hand book shop if she had won, she SHOULD open one anyway...it is an obvious life goal.

My lottery dream is to build a big suistainable house made out of green oak timber.

I will also have a shamanic lodge where I will take lots of mind altering drugs.

Then I will buy some woodland

Typical eco moon with his krusty day dreams.

Reality is sad 9-5 and no mind bending drugs becuase stinking new labour ban them all.

I haven`t checked my ticket yet, but I did think about it fleetingly on the ward this evening. `Reality` hasn`t been so bad today, had a few quite satisfying bits;

Put my line manager straight by giving very precisely remembered detail surrounding an incident months ago, thus rescued a good colleague from very bothersome hassle.

Had news of an ex-patient who went home weeks ago and, against all expectations, is doing really well.

Removed some clips from a surgical wound, and was able to teach a keen student nurse and let her take half the clips out, patient happy, student GLOWING.

Those were the highlights, but there were other quality moments too. Fridays are pretty chaotic there, but one of the best bits was anticipating a whole weekend off. If one could really please oneself, there wouldn`t be the same pleasurable anticipation, would there?
