Oh yes, the scare stories (the Fear Culture) that`s the REAL Menace. I`ve had cancer, been clear so far, I`ve lost my Hubby (cancer again) that`s all in the last 5 years. Fear could have crippled us both but it DIDN`T, because you have to LIVE till you die, right? You get the FACTS, face them, and get the most out of life while you can. (And of course, give what you can, while you can) There`s more than enough bad news waiting for folks, as we happen to be mere mortals, without the bloody need to go looking for more of it! |

Later that evening, the Very Large Telescope in Chile and the Hobby-Eberly Telescope in Texas measured the burst's redshift at 0.94. A redshift is a measure of the distance to an object. A redshift of 0.94 translates into a distance of 7.5 billion light years, meaning the explosion took place 7.5 billion years ago, a time when the universe was less than half its current age and Earth had yet to form. This is more than halfway across the visible universe.
The mind boggles. Space is amazing isn't it. |

Pel, that`s a damn feeble excuse not to wash your nets this week. I ain`t done mine, either! Space and Physics, yes of course it`s all mind-bogglingly brilliant, but why should we feel freaked by it? It`s all been there, all going on, whether we were here or not, whether we noticed or not. I would just like to point out that the menfolk here who take notice of these great events and inform me of them so excitedly... can just barely manage to do themselves egg & bacon in my absence, and nicely trash the kitchen, which is , of necessity, the centre of My universe. |

If you did this in public you could be part of the fringe festival. |

don't panic............
So what if the poles reverse, big fucking deal. So the compass faces south.. oooohhhh.. i'm scared now.
You should be scared...it would be a disaster for the satnav industry, even worse than the millennium bug event........
Pigeon racing would be gone, everything containing a magnet would fail or run backwards, |

Pigeon's are surprisingly adaptive creatures.
I think it would be fun if the poles reveresed. Good excuse for a party.

I have a copy of the BBC movie "Supervolcano" (2005) which is a fairly well done 'docudrama'. Worth a watch if you can find it, but it's pretty scary - "End of life as we know it the cockroaches inherit the earth" sort of stuff.

Yes even a Nuke going off, I have my bunkers stocked up, because Warmonger Evil Brown is with Evil Bush in the Illegal Occupation of Iraq.

Flint is on many threads as your sad bint. She is a Corrupt New Labour Loser.
Produce is all use by 2014 and gets updated all the time, even special Plants and soil. And special Water for them. After a Nuke or Nukes all those with bunkers are the Rulers. Smoking - you will be shot, for example. |
