With the end of Classical Longplayer in Duke Street there is no longer a shop for classical CDs in Brighton.
This will hasten the growth of online shopping, which means that fewer and fewer places in England have a true local economy.

It is amazing it lasted this long.
Of course HMV or Virginrebrand stores
sell classical CD's.
So your title is Wrong.
It should be No more Specialist Shop.

For classical discs, those stores are not worth bothering with.
There could be a good classical store. The record shops in Gardner Street and Kensington Gardens show that specialist stores do well if they have the stock with knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff. |

| I don't think LTNS can fully enter the vast array of quality Classical. Mozart is Mozart and he may have heard of Bach and Vivaldi but that is just about where it stops I reckon. |

Lawks luv a duck! I used to go there when my eldest was but a wee nipper. Good ol' Spot, a family comforter, came from there. By now dilapidated, much repaired and well loved by two generations of Binder offspring and seen us through all sniffs and colds, fevers, spotty chickenpox, teething, the screaming ab-jabs, heartbreaks and shattered dreams, I-hate-yous and I-wish-I-had-never-been-borns, tummy upsets, scary moments and all the other tragedies large and small ... heard more secrets, and kept them! Who remembers the famous record shop in Sydney Street of late 70s/early 80s era ? |
