English tax to fund free Scots universities
BRITISH taxpayers are to meet the £2 billion cost of reintroducing free university education in Scotland – but students from England and Wales will still have to pay the full fees...
The move by the minority SNP administration is likely to reignite the debate about the Union and fuel anger at the emergence of a two-tier system whereby a more generous level of public services in Scotland is largely funded by English taxpayers.
Really, the quicker this sick-man statelet goes its own way, how much better off we'll be both financially and politically.

Not amused at all by this.
Scots get this and free OAP homes.
Welsh get free prescriptions while Englands costs go up.
When will we get something for the English beside more tax or stealth tax?
Send Brown back to Scotland.

The Scott's, Welsh and some Europeans need the extra help with education, their not as good as the English especially when it comes to the consumption of Alcohol.
Or will the English culture be slowly erased and finally eliminated by this blatant discrimination.
Na, we ain't worth wasting the money on, only supplying it for others |

| are the people on this forum that stupid?it is about time Scotland got something back,from the thieving British government;Thatcher closed the mines the steelworks etc etc,but still took the oil and gas revenues.So stop bloudy whinging!! perhaps you should look in your own backyards to find out whose fault all this is,as far as alchohol is concerned the scots are not all alkies;I find the comment racist. admin do something about the comment by nightbird it is offensive |

Jock bashing! Thats not very nice of you all. We do pay taxes as well you know.
However I do think that free prescriptions for chronic illness should be for
everyone. I have asthma and therefore pay to breathe.
Would we be giving free prescriptions to any chronic disease which would
include self induced illness. alcoholics,smokers, druggies etc. Where do you draw
the line? |
