But the adjective to mean "of first importance" is indeed "principal" - having first place.
"principle" is a moral quality.
For example, "LTNS was of the opinion that Tony Blair was the principal judge of the principles claimed by residents in England". |

Back to first principles. Quite right infinite.
Principle is only a noun. Principal can be a noun and an adjective but the two words have different meanings. |

Yes, it's quite easy:
The principal had principles - until the biology mistress led him astray. |

| Then again, the council being ultra selective about what they will and will not tackle in the way of graffiti can be pretty frustrating! |

News here of editorial cuts at the Argus, which will only have one edition a day and is stopping the Sports Argus. So the proof reading will get even worse... If they increased the editorial staff and sought out news, sales would go up.
The paper had a great opportunity but became caught up in the "city" hype and alienated readers, who want real news. Odds are that it will become a free weekly.

The Guardian piece has had some interesting comments made beneath it since this morning.
Several say that the Argus has managed to miss all of the potential markets it could reach. It had not achieved the right balancing act..
It could be doing so much more. |

Great link ! Also as mentioned above, the Argus comments via the Guardian link posted earlier are well worth reading. |

| Judging from the comments after stories, the Argus's 'readers' appear to consist of right wing shit for brains. |

Today's Argus has to apologise for the other day printing a picture of a Clive Roberts who was prosecuted for groping staff. However, the paper's picture was of somebody else with that name, a restaurant owner. Today it has printed a picture of the groper.
Shouldn't it be pursuing journalistic standards instead of scratching about with a feeble website? |

| Why bother with printing a picture of a groper in the first place? Has it really come down to this? |

The Argus online today has a headline about a "twarted bank raid gang".
Any other gangs would be well advised not to enlist such Argus staff for a raid as such cackhandness would thwart the enterprise. |

Another Argus greatest hit in the accuracy stakes. Here's a front page report from almost a year ago, when it confidently stated that property prices in Brighton were "set to soar" 50% by 2012.
Stuff like that makes readers decide to save 100% by not buying it.
Oh, for some real news! Perhaps the paper will learn that in hard times if it wants to survive.
