To turn it into a housing estate? If Ropetacke could have that awful bunch of flats foisted on it, think what might happen to that green land...

What worried me is that we seem to have this pattern developing of these flash companies and local authorities jumping into bed together. I really think that we need to look at the executive branch of our local authority a bit more closely. After all, councillors really and truly can only go by the information they are given by these council officers.

Exactly. The competence of these officers must be queried. The same applies in Planning, when officers are being asked to bring in a verdict on such things as the Marina and the King Alfred when it is evident that such scehmes - as they are currently formulated - cannot go ahead.

When Brighton council sold Shoreham airport to this Group were they paid in cash or a mixture of cash and shares in this group I wonder?

If in part by shares the Council should dump them before they become worthless......

Who is the Chief Executive of Brighton Council? You don't hear much about them these days.

Alan McCarthy .... he is actually a civil engineer by profession and, one must assume, by training. He isn't as flamboyant as Panter was. Started out as as director of environmental services in 1996 during the transition having joined us from the county council (redeployed?) and became Panter's deputy with responsibility for finance, property, human resources, legal services, major projects and economic development.
