I have lived here most of my life and I still do not understand how 88 F temperature feels like 100 when it happens here in in October. This is a big event here, and some serious runners I know actually quit. So it was not just the usual "out of shape" over reachers that were felled by the heat. I have completed some summer marathons in UK. Luckily there was lots & lots of water around. Must have drank many litres. Just to show how much was sweated out I did not need a pee for hours after.
